Jackass

Yes, this happened on Sunday night.

Shawn and I made a promise to each other to start going out more often. Being an old married couple is great - hurray for staying in and sleeping - but we decided that we needed to spice things up a bit.

This weekend, I learned what it means to really appreciate what you have. I spent the weekend delivering straw to outdoor dogs in need, and it really made me appreciate all the things I have in my life.

So when we saw that Steve-O was coming to D.C., we jumped at the chance to relive our immature teenage years.

Nothing like watching someone squeeze lemon juice into their eyes to put a smile on your face.

Thankful

Is it possible to have too much Thanksgiving food? I don't think so, but I'm finally starting to recover from the long weekend.

I spent Thanksgiving day with Shawn and his family. There's nothing better than spending time with family and cooking up tasty treats with my other half.

This Thanksgiving, I was thankful for having time to really relax and take a breath and spending time with friends. Since school has ended, it seems like everyone has moved far away, so whenever I get the chance to spend time with friends, I never pass it up.

Now, can someone deliver an elliptical to my house so I can work off all the mashed potatoes I've eaten?

Thanksgiving with the Turkeys

Last weekend, the boyfriend and I went to Thanksgiving with the Turkeys, an all-vegan Thanksgiving event at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary in Maryland. The food was delicious and the animals were super cute. All of these animals were either saved from slaughter or cruelty. I could not have asked for a better way to start the holidays.

I'm alive!

(Forever 21 utility jacket, jeggings, jewelry, H&M sequin shirt, ankle boots, Michael Kors watch, Ray Ban Wayfarers)

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Phew, starting a new job really sucks all the energy out of you. I barely have time to get dressed in the morning let alone take photos of my outfits these days. But I'm promising myself that I will not ignore my blog anymore!

Time to show my blog some TLC!

My Long Overdue Eurotrip Post

Many, many, many apologies for not posting these photos sooner! I meant to actually separate these pictures into a couple different posts for each country, but due to the amount of photos I have (and the laziness), I have compiled them all in one giant, image-heavy entry. To sum up my trip in a few words is impossible. It was one of the most memorable, amazing experiences of my life, and I'm so glad to have spent it with my family. I had a blast experiencing new cultures, trying different (vegan) foods, dodging pick pocketing, and spending time with people I care about. I hope to be lucky enough to go on a trip like this again soon! So here are the countries we visited: France, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Spain -- all beautiful!

Okay, now it's time to kick this blog into shape (as I try to get back in shape after this trip too!). Why has it taken me so long to post this? I'll tell ya why! I was lucky enough to find out while on vacation that... drumroll... I got a job! SUCCESS! So for the past three weeks, I've been getting my feet wet at my new job working in the communications department of an animal rights nonprofit organization. And so far, I'm loving every minute of it. The only thing is that by the time I get home, I'm too tired for blogging. But this gal is finally getting used to working the 9 to 5, and I will be back in action... soon.
